Call for Applications

We announce 3 PhD positions in Innovative Water Resource Management through a collaboration between SDRIA, CHA Agadir, and international research institutions.

• Candidates will conduct their research at prestigious partner universities and research centers, starting in September 2025.

Eligibility Criteria 

• A Master’s degree (Bac+5) in agronomy, horticulture, soil science, rural engineering, hydrology, or environmental sciences.

• Demonstrate expertise in: 

  • Irrigation and agricultural water management.

  • Soil science and fertilization (nutrient dynamics, salinity impact).

  • Crop physiology and stress tolerance (responses to drought, salinity, and fertilization).

  • Hydrology and environmental sustainability (water reuse, climate change adaptation).

  • GIS and remote sensing (optional).

• Fluency in French and English.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and independent research management skills.

• Commitment to a clear academic and professional career path.

• Willingness to collaborate with international partners.

• Pre-selection will be based on merit, including academic background (years of study, grades, etc.).

Application Requirements

• A detailed CV in English.

• A motivation letter highlighting scientific goals and program interest.

• Academic transcripts and a copy of the required diploma, combined into one PDF file.

• Three recommendation letters from professors, researchers, or professionals familiar with the candidate’s work.

• An English proficiency certificate (TOEFL or IELTS) at B2 level or higher.

Selection Process

• Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview to evaluate their suitability and motivation for the PhD program. In-person interviews will be held starting April 30, 2025, at CHA-Agadir.

• Selected candidates will also undergo an additional online interview with the committee of partner institutions.
