Seminar presented by Prof. Gilles COMTE from Lyon 1 University on the theme:

«Biological Signaling of Plant Secondary Metabolism and Applications to Aromatic and Medicinal Plants from the Souss Region »

Gilles COMTE is a Professor of Plant Biology at the University of Lyon and has been leading the Center for the Study of Natural Substances since 2004. He develops metabolomics tools to decipher and better understand interaction and action mechanisms in an ecological context, particularly the adaptation of plant metabolism during these interactions.

His professional career has led him to work for several years as an expert and project leader for INRAe, CNRS, and the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research. He has been a board member of the Groupe Polyphénols for 10 years, served as Deputy Director of the Biology Department from 2009 to 2015, authored over 120 international scientific publications and communications, holds several patents, and has been directing the Master’s program in Plant Biology at the University of Lyon for over 15 years.
